Manolo Blahnik Spring Summer 2011

Blahnik’s Botanical Bonanza
Do you ever feel that the shoes in your closet need a much more exciting roommate? A pair of heels that quite literally scream ‘look at me!’?

Manolo Blahnik has been quoted as saying, “About half my designs are controlled fantasy, 15 percent are total madness and the rest are bread-and-butter designs.” But this season Manolo Blahnik has gone and upped the madness factor just the right amount; offering up a collection of fresh and funky high heels, with that slight sprinkling of madness that are sure to sate the urges of even the most eccentric fashionista.

The collection features shoes inspired by all varieties of plant life, from magenta blossoms wrapped oh-so-elegantly around sandal straps to holly inspired heels in dark green; and if you’ve got a hankering for some flats they have wonderful sandals in sumptuous brown leather with straps that wrap around the ankles. Knee boots in the collection are delicately embellished with cut out flower silhouettes, and blue sandals with splashes of vivid lime green to give any beach outfit the wow factor.

If you aren’t into having look-at-me shoes, even the collection’s simpler designs feature splashes of brighter colours such as purple, aqua and red; and even the more down to earth heels in muted colours (such as nude and stone hues) have beautiful ruched details and subtle colour differences over the toes and heels, creating something that is not only stylish, but innovative and functional.

In the UK the latest collection is available only in store, and ready to buy and start brightening up your springtime as of now!
