Confession time! Put your hands up if you love shoes?

That was easy, ok now for the more intimate questions.

Who here loves their shoes as if they were their children?

Don’t be shy, we’re all friends here.

See? That wasn’t so bad.

After all, I’m sure you have seen all over Pinterest and blogs, or the infamous MTV Cribs (remember that?) wardrobes dedicated entirely to shoes. They almost look like a museum exhibition in honour of shoes. See where we’re going here?

Recently I stumbled across an artist named Sebastian Errazurizwho had created an art collection titled“12 Shoes for 12 Lovers”, each sculpture is representative of a former lover and his experience with those women.

Cry Baby

Heart Breaker

Looking at the collection all I can think is“Why aren’t they for sale? It’s not fair!”Apparently I turn into a four year old child at the thought of not being able to wear these shoes, however can you blame me? Look at them!

I have to say“Cry Baby”and“Heart Breaker”are my absolute favourites, the former looking like something out of a Lady Gaga video but thankfully doesn’t require special training to wear.

I guess the overall point I’m trying to make is that, shoes can be art. Just think about the hours and dedication put into designing shoes. The years of training that Italian shoemakers would have undergone to craft quality leather shoes; wouldn’t you call themartisans?
